The fact that I can’t force my friends to like the music that I like is honestly really frustrating.
I’ve always thought that maybe if I sit a friend down and make them actively listen to a progressive metal song like Threshold or Circus Maximus or Dream Theater, and show them all the cool parts of the song, and explain the lyrics and stuff, that they would finally see the light and come to the realization that this is obviously the best genre
But I know that that won’t happen

Isolate is one of those albums that I think will always be one of my favorites. Top 5, at least.
If Circus Maximus keeps a good track record, and lasts at least a few more good albums, they may very well usurp Dream Theater as my favorite band
