I really want to do some of the level and world design for a Fallout title set in the Omaha Metro area.

Omaha would be a good location because it’s small (about the size of Las Vegas),

has (a little) interesting terrain (not as much as DC or Vegas, certainly),

and it was the USSR’s 3rd or 4th target during the Cold War, because Offut AFB has a great bunker, and because of the SAC.

Also I have a “homefield advantage,” and know the city pretty well (Easter Eggs at friends’ houses, stuff like that)

So what I’m gonna do (first of all) is get the Fallout 3 level editor (though hopefully the new titles will have new engines, unlike NV) and just start making levels.

I don’t want to make a bunch of levels of people’s houses or specific buildings or anything, because then I won’t be able to use them in the real game (copyright infringement or something)

So yeah, this is what I’m gonna be working towards. I’ll also ask my dad what he knows about Bethesda (who to talk to, the work environment, etc)

I’ll also download a Skyrim level editor, because working on a TES game would also be cool (not quite as cool though, I think)

One problem I will face is scaling. In case you haven’t noticed, the Hoover Dam isn’t that small in rea life (after my mom’s trip to Vegas last year, I showed her some of the sites in NV. She actually thought they did a pretty good job)
